AWS Launches Capability Insights to Improve Cloud Visibility and Planning
Amazon Web Services has introduced Capability Insights, a feature designed to help customers better understand and take advantage of AWS services and platform capabilities. The open-source solution enables you to deploy regional capabilities data inside your own Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). The solution is designed for organizations with data residency requirements, compliance teams needing internal reporting and teams planning regional expansion or multi-Region recovery strategies.
The Capability Insights provides visibility into AWS features that are available or applicable to a customer's environment, helping organizations identify opportunities to improve performance, security, cost optimization and operational efficiency. The feature is intended to simplify discovery of relevant capabilities without requiring customers to manually track new AWS releases.
AWS said the service analyzes cloud environments and surfaces recommendations based on deployed resources and workloads. By highlighting applicable features and best practices, the company aims to help customers make better-informed decisions about modernizing and optimizing their AWS deployments. Capability Insights for AWS can be deployed in any AWS Region where the required services (AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon EventBridge, AWS Step Functions, Amazon Athena and AWS Glue) are available.
