AWS Brings Kiro and GPT-Nemotron to AWS GovCloud (US)
Amazon Web Services has made the Kiro AI development environment and NVIDIA’s GPT-Nemotron in the Kiro IDE and CLI for the AWS GovCloud (US-West) Region models, expanding access to generative AI technologies for government agencies and regulated industries. OpenAI GPT-5.4 is now available in Kiro for complex reasoning, coding, document analysis, and multi-step agentic workflows. NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Super 120B is now available in Kiro as an open weight model option. GPT-5.4 runs on Amazon Bedrock's next-generation inference engine with isolated queues and durable execution for resilient workloads.
The additions enable customers operating in GovCloud to build, deploy and manage AI applications using tools and models designed for secure cloud environments. The availability is intended to help public sector organizations adopt generative AI while meeting regulatory, security and compliance requirements.
The company said developers can use the services to create AI-powered applications, automate workflows and support mission-critical operations without moving sensitive workloads outside AWS GovCloud. The update expands the range of AI capabilities available within AWS's isolated cloud regions for government and defense customers.
