AWS Adds Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 5 to Its Generative AI Model Lineup

Amazon Web Services has made Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 5 foundation model available through its generative AI platform, giving customers another option for developing enterprise AI applications. Claude Sonnet 5 delivers strong performance across coding, professional work, and agentic tasks while maintaining the balance of capability, cost and speed that teams get from Sonnet.

Claude Sonnet 5 is designed to support a range of workloads, including conversational AI, content generation, coding assistance and business process automation. The model is available through AWS's AI services, allowing developers to integrate it into new and existing applications. Customers have two ways to access Claude Sonnet 5 Amazon Bedrock and Claude Platform on AWS.

AWS said the addition reflects growing customer demand for greater flexibility when selecting foundation models for different performance, cost and governance requirements. Organizations can use the model alongside other AI offerings available through the AWS ecosystem.
