AWS Rebrands Migration and Modernization Services Under AWS Transform
Amazon Web Services has rebranded elements of its migration and modernization portfolio under the AWS Transform name, to AWS Transform MGN, reflecting a broader focus on application transformation and modernization initiatives.
The change brings migration-related capabilities, including services associated with application and infrastructure transitions, under a more unified framework. The goal is to simplify how organizations plan, assess and execute modernization projects across cloud environments. Users can choose between two rehosting experiences, AWS Transform MGN console for direct control over replication and cutover or AWS Transform agentic workflow, where an agent handles discovery, wave planning, landing zone setup, network creation, and rehosting or containerization on your behalf, accelerating your path to AWS.
AWS said the rebranding reflects the growing role of automation and AI-assisted tools in migration and modernization efforts. By consolidating offerings under the AWS Transform umbrella, the company aims to provide a more cohesive experience for organizations moving workloads, updating applications and reducing technical debt. The feature is available in all commercial regions and both GovCloud (US) Regions.
