Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Harness Reaches General Availability
Amazon Web Services has announced the general availability of Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Harness, a service designed to help organizations evaluate, test and improve AI agents before deploying them into production environments. The offering provides tools for validating agent behavior, measuring performance and assessing reliability across a range of enterprise use cases.
The harness shapes how well an agent performs as much as the model does, and building a durable one is where most teams spend their time today. AgentCore Harness provides that layer as a managed capability. AgentCore decouples the harness from the model so when a use case needs custom orchestration, a single CLI command exports the harness to Strands-based code on the same compute and primitives, with Claude Agent SDK coming soon as an export target.
According to AWS, AgentCore Harness enables developers to run structured tests against AI agents, helping teams identify issues related to accuracy, consistency and task execution. The service is intended to support organizations building agentic AI applications that perform multi-step workflows and interact with enterprise systems. AgentCore harness is generally available today in all AWS Commercial Regions where AgentCore is available.
