AWS Adds Self-Service Lifecycle Management for Outposts Infrastructure
Amazon Web Services has introduced self-service lifecycle management capabilities for AWS Outposts, in configuration, quoting, ordering, subscription management, renewal, and decommissioning directly from the AWS Management Console, CLI, and API. The update is designed to provide organizations with greater visibility into the status of Outposts systems and upcoming lifecycle events.
Subscription details, including term dates and billing, are now available in the console and programmatically, eliminating the need to contact AWS for contract information. As terms approach their end date, self-service workflows let you renew with a new term and payment option, or decommission your Outpost through a guided workflow that handles resource cleanup.
According to AWS, customers can now access information related to hardware refreshes, maintenance schedules and lifecycle planning without relying solely on AWS support interactions. The capabilities are intended to help organizations better coordinate operational activities and minimize disruptions in environments where Outposts infrastructure supports critical workloads.
