AWS Adds Outposts Lag Status Monitoring in Amazon CloudWatch
Amazon Web Services has introduced LagStatus monitoring for AWS Outposts in Amazon CloudWatch, aimed at improving visibility into hybrid cloud operations. The feature enables customers to track synchronization delays between Outposts deployments and their associated AWS regions. This helps organizations identify latency or replication issues that could affect application performance and data consistency. The metric allows users to set alarms, troubleshoot connectivity issues and ensure that Outposts racks are correctly integrated with on-premises infrastructure.
AWS Outposts extends AWS infrastructure and services to on-premises environments. By integrating LagStatus metrics into CloudWatch, AWS aims to provide administrators with a centralized view of system health and performance across hybrid environments.
The update is designed to support troubleshooting and operational monitoring, allowing teams to respond more quickly to issues related to connectivity or data synchronization. As organizations adopt hybrid cloud architectures, maintaining visibility across distributed environments has become increasingly important. The LagStatus metric is available for all Outposts LAGs in all commercial AWS Regions and the AWS GovCloud (US-East) and AWS GovCloud (US-West) Regions where Outposts racks are available.
