AWS Elemental MediaConvert Introduces Video Probe for Enhanced Media Analysis
Amazon Web Services has announced the introduction of Video Probe in AWS Elemental MediaConvert, adding enhanced media analysis capabilities to its cloud-based video processing service. The feature enables customers to inspect detailed properties of video files prior to transcoding, including codec information, frame rate, resolution and other technical attributes. The analysis capability is ideal for content creators, developers and media professionals who can use Elementals' step functions to make encoding decisions.
Accurate media analysis is critical in broadcast and streaming workflows, where encoding decisions directly affect quality, compatibility, and delivery performance. Traditionally, teams have relied on separate tools to analyze source files before processing. By embedding Video Probe directly into MediaConvert, AWS aims to streamline pre-transcode validation and reduce workflow complexity. For media and entertainment organizations, the addition of Video Probe supports more reliable, scalable video operations within AWS-based production and distribution environments. The feature is available in all regions where AWS Elemental MediaConvert is available.
