AWS Extends S3 Storage Lens Availability to US GovCloud Regions
Amazon Web Services has expanded Amazon S3 Storage Lens to AWS GovCloud (U.S.) regions, making its storage analytics and insights capabilities available to government agencies and regulated organizations. The service provides aggregated metrics, dashboards, and recommendations that help customers understand object storage usage, cost drivers, data protection posture and activity trends across S3 environments. Newly added performance metrics also enables application performance constraints that can help reduce costs and latency. The move is intended to give public sector customers the same level of visibility and optimization support already available in commercial regions.
S3 Storage Lens has become a key tool for organizations managing large and growing data estates, particularly as storage sprawl and compliance requirements increase. By bringing Storage Lens to GovCloud, AWS enables agencies to apply consistent monitoring and optimization practices while meeting federal security and compliance standards. For public sector IT teams, the expansion supports more informed capacity planning, improved cost management, and stronger alignment with data governance and accountability mandates in highly regulated environments. S3 Storage Lens is now available in all AWS regions.
