New AWS T3 Computing Instances Now Available
Amazon Web Services Inc. (AWS) announced the next generation of its general-purpose computing instances, which are said to provide better price performance.
Also, AWS said, these new T3 instances for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) feature unlimited bursting by default. Bursting refers to the ability to scale up CPU computing power as demand increases.

"If you have workloads that currently run on M4 or M5 instances but don't need sustained compute power, consider moving them to T3 instances," spokesperson Jeff Barr said in a blog post yesterday (Aug. 21). "You can host the workloads at a very low cost while still having access to sustainable high performance when needed (unlimited bursting is enabled by default, making these instances even easier to use than their predecessors)."
In a statement, the company said new offerings provide up to 30 percent improved price performance than previous-generation T2 instances. The default unlimited bursting capability makes them especially suited for applications that need to adjust to CPU demand spikes, like microservices, low-latency interactive applications, small and medium databases, virtual desktops, development environments, code repositories and business-critical applications, the company said.
Barr said the T3 instances are now available in the US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon), Canada (Central), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), Europe (Frankfurt), South America (São Paulo), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Asia Pacific (Singapore), and Asia Pacific (Sydney) Regions.
