IBM Expands Availability in AWS Marketplace from 5 to 92 Countries

Big Blue is significantly expanding access to its products, including its Watson family of AI solutions, for Amazon Web Services customers around the globe.

This month, IBM announced that its solutions listed on the AWS Marketplace are now available to an additional 87 countries, a massive expansion from the current five (United States, United Kingdom, France, Denmark and Germany).

"By expanding the availability of our software portfolio in AWS Marketplace, organizations around the world will have greater access to a streamlined way to procure many IBM AI and hybrid cloud offerings to help propel their business forward," said IBM's head of global partnerships, Nick Otto, in a prepared statement.

AWS Marketplace GM Matt Yanchyshyn described the move as a boon to joint customers of AWS and IBM. "By leveraging the speed and simplified procurement capabilities of AWS Marketplace, customers can now more easily access IBM's cutting-edge solutions, enabling them to accelerate their digital transformation and drive innovation at scale," Yanchyshyn said.

The AWS Markteplace is an online platform from which AWS customers can purchase consulting services and software from AWS partners. Purchasing from the AWS Marketplace -- or any vendor marketplace -- generally helps customers streamline their procurement process and make billing less complex.

IBM's presence on the AWS Marketplace, per its announcement, comprises "44 listings and 29 SaaS offerings." They include:

  • The open source data store watsonx.data
  • The watsonx.ai development platform
  • Two AI assistants: watsonx Assistant and watsonx Orchestrate
  • The Db2 Cloud Pak database
  • The Apptio, Turbonomic and Instana automation tools
  • IBM Security
  • IBM Sustainability
  • Over a dozen IBM Consulting services

The Watsonx.governance will be available on the AWS Marketplace soon.
