Domino Puts Another Piece of Its Data Science Platform on AWS
Data science software provider Domino has added another module to its cloud-based solution that aims to help data scientists quickly build models for production applications.
Announced Tuesday, the new Domino Model Delivery module is part of Domino's broader data science platform that runs on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. The platform "supports the entire data science process," according to Domino's announcement, "from initial exploration to maintaining production models."
Like the rest of the platform, Domino Model Delivery is designed to run natively on AWS. The new offering lets data science teams easily spin up models as microservices or APIs without the need to rope in their IT departments.
Typically, the process of building data science models could take months, requiring a lot of work on the parts of IT and engineering staff to translate models from development environments to production environments.
Domino Model Delivery promises to automate this process, reducing the workload on IT teams, shortening project times, and enabling data scientists to incorporate more models into their business processes. It also helps organizations ensure that they maintain their compliance during the translation step.
"Domino Model Delivery validates the advantages of running Domino on AWS, streamlining model delivery for data scientists, ensuring their well-developed models are properly and quickly deployed, and turning the last marathon of model production into a 10-yard dash," said Domino CEO Nick Elprin in a prepared statement.
