Logi Analytics Offers Hourly Pricing for Visual AWS Data Tool

Logi Analytics announced hourly pricing for its data analysis and visualization tool for Amazon Web Services Inc. (AWS) workgroups.

Self-service analytics users can turn the company's Logi Vision cloud tool on or off as needed, the company said, paying for hourly use rather than investing in software licenses and dedicated hardware.

"Cloud-based analytics and dashboards have become increasingly popular, as it enables business user workgroups to analyze data on-demand and make immediate business decisions, regardless of their location," the company said in a statement. It said the tool lets users "address fluctuating BI project requirements by leveraging the visual analytics tool on an as-needed, self-service basis, to gain insights and make informed decisions."

The McLean, Va., company provides an interactive dashboard to facilitate ad hoc queries and visual analysis that users can leverage to discover business insights and drive business decisions. The privately held, venture-backed firm claims more than 1,600 global customers.

"Business intelligence is an important category of solutions on AWS Marketplace," the company quoted AWS exec David McCann as saying. "With Logi Vision for AWS available at hourly rates, customers have greater flexibility of how they use software to quickly analyze massive amounts of data, collaborate and share insights with their team members."

The Logi Vision tool uses a recommendation engine and "built-in data science" to bring high-end analytics from the province of specially trained data scientists and other advanced specialists to common business users. Its entry on the AWS Marketplace shows 25 users and pricing ranging from about $1.99 per hour to about $2.94 per hour, depending on the size of the EC2 instance being used.

"Business users are increasingly requesting access to self-service analytics tools, that provide an easy way to analyze data with minimal IT involvement," said company exec David Abramson. "As such, organizations need to rapidly enable workgroups with collaborative analytics and dashboarding capabilities. Logi Vision for AWS simplifies the way business users interact and work with data, and provides a flexible, self-service analytics and dashboard solution for workgroups in an on-demand environment."
