AWS Signs On with New Workday AI Agent Partner Network
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is among a handful of key partners joining Workday's newly announced AI Agent Partner Network, a move that marks a major step in unifying how human and digital workers are managed across enterprise systems.
Workday, best known for its enterprise cloud applications in human capital and financial management, is positioning itself as a hub for managing not just people and money, but now also AI agents. At its DevCon 2025 event, the company unveiled the Workday Agent Partner Network and Agent Gateway, two core components of its strategy to support a future workforce made up of both humans and intelligent digital agents. These tools will allow customers to discover, deploy, and govern AI agents across platforms -- including those powered by AWS -- from a unified system of record.
At the center of this strategy is the Workday Agent System of Record (ASOR) -- a new AI-native layer within the Workday platform designed to manage digital agents much like human employees. The ASOR provides tools for assigning roles, defining data access, tracking agent performance, and ensuring alignment with business goals. Whether an AI agent is built by Workday, AWS, or another partner, the ASOR acts as the control plane that governs how agents operate, what actions they can take, and how they interact with people and processes inside the organization.

"AWS is powering the future of AI agent development through Amazon Bedrock's comprehensive foundation model ecosystem and enterprise-grade development framework," said Swami Sivasubramanian, VP of Agentic AI, AWS. "With Workday's Agent System of Record, organizations will be much better positioned to ethically manage all these agents. We're excited to collaborate with Workday to reshape the future of work through agentic AI. Together, we'll empower organizations to unlock exponential value while maintaining our shared commitment to security and responsible AI."
Helping launch the network along with AWS are fellow cloud giants Microsoft and Google along with enterprise heavyweights like Accenture, Deloitte, IBM, PwC, KPMG, Adobe, and others.
As part of the rollout, Workday also introduced the Agent Gateway, a new interoperability layer that lets AI agents from across the partner ecosystem connect directly to the ASOR. Built on shared protocols -- including the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent-to-Agent Protocol (A2A) -- the gateway enables agents from Workday, AWS, and others to securely exchange information and coordinate tasks across enterprise platforms. The result is a more unified and intelligent workforce, where human employees and AI agents collaborate in real time to streamline processes, reduce friction, and drive measurable impact.
For AWS customers already building agentic workflows with Amazon Bedrock, the collaboration offers a new opportunity to integrate those capabilities into broader enterprise systems through Workday's ASOR. The Agent Gateway is expected to be available to early adopters by the end of 2025, with partner-built agents -- including those powered by AWS -- already discoverable on the Workday Marketplace.
