Extenua Puts Security and Mobility Software on AWS
Enterprise security software maker Extenua Inc. announced its security and mobility software is now available on the Amazon Web Services Inc. (AWS) Marketplace.
"Cloud2Drive software allows users and enterprise to utilize Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) for all their unstructured data storage requirements in one of the most secure schema available today," the company said in a statement last week.
Extenua's technology lets users see and use their cloud just like a regular disk drive, even showing up as an icon under Hard Disk Drives listed by Windows under the My Computer utility, transparently managing the back-end, multi-cloud infrastructure. "Simply login with the Cloud2Drive agent software and it mounts your S3 storage as network attached storage drive(s)," the AWS Marketplace item states. "All your current desktop software functions as if the storage is local." It includes functionality that prevents accidental overwriting of files in multi-user scenarios, along with artificial intelligence-based caching technology to predict serve up files likely to be needed, with automatic encryption.
"Cloud2Drive functions the same as a network drive utilizing Extenua's patent pending virtual clustered file system SAFE AI architecture," the company said.
The Cloud2Drive offering also creates a secure access connection to the Internet, so enterprises don't have to resort to sometimes-cumbersome VPN software and VPN server management, said the company, which uses patent-pending security algorithms to meet or exceed most compliance regulations such as HIPAA and PCI DSS.
"We are pleased to launch Cloud2Drive in AWS Marketplace providing on-premises like access to Amazon S3 as the most secure platform available to date," said Federico Simonetti, CTO at Extenua. "We are applying unique purpose-built technology to endpoints to help enterprise and SMB take advantage of the flexibility and cost savings of AWS Cloud storage."
The offering on the AWS Marketplace starts at $7.50 per user per month.
