Oracle Linux Now Available on AWS Marketplace
Extending a longtime relationship, Amazon Web Services Inc. (AWS) announced that Oracle Corp. Linux is now available on its cloud platform marketplace.
Oracle Linux, along with many other Oracle products, was previously available through use of an Oracle VM on Amazon EC2.
The AWS Marketplace now lists Oracle Linux 6.6. "Oracle Linux includes the latest innovations and features, providing more freedom and choice than other commercial Linux distributions," the marketplace page states. "Oracle Linux provides the tools, features and flexibility customers and partners need to innovate, collaborate and create world-class solutions."
Sold by Orbitera, the new entry comes with hourly and annual pricing, AWS exec Jeff Barr said in a blog post.
"This is a fully supported way to run Oracle Linux on AWS," Barr said. "Patches and updates are available from Oracle; 24×7 premium support is available through Orbitera."
