MicroStrategy Enterprise Analytics Now on AWS
MicroStrategy Inc. is now offering its flagship enterprise analytics platform on the Amazon Web Services Inc. (AWS) cloud.
The new MicroStrategy on AWS offering provides an optimized version of the company's MicroStrategy 10 platform, which provides business intelligence (BI) and other analytics functionality, along with security and mobility.
Specifically, the platform enables functionality such as enterprise data discovery, enterprise reporting, personalized distribution capabilities and predictive analytics, managed via dashboards and accessed through optimized connectors to hundreds of databases.
The company said the AWS initiative helps users of its platform monitor, change and maintain platform features themselves, with the built-in AWS optimization also letting enterprises leverage more than 20 AWS services, including individual services in the compute, database, management tools, messaging, storage and network categories, along with tools for applications, software development and security.
"For the first time, our customers and partners can deploy and manage the full MicroStrategy platform on dedicated AWS infrastructure, and they can do so with complete control of their environment," the company said in a blog post yesterday.
In addition to the aforementioned capabilities of the MicroStrategy 10 platform, the company said the AWS offering provides:
- The ability to deploy mobile productivity apps that can be customized with branded transaction-enabled workflows and tailored to any business function or role.
- Self-service provisioning via an AWS-powered portal that offers full control to administrators looking to deploy cloud instances of any size on dedicated AWS infrastructure, along with the ability to manage and schedule tasks and operations in real-time.
- Cloud-specific RESTful APIs that provide users with the flexibility to self-create custom workflows and create personalized admin interfaces to automate on AWS operations.
"By offering MicroStrategy on AWS, we're making it easy for anyone, anywhere, to use the MicroStrategy platform and intelligently collaborate around analytics," said CEO Michael J. Saylor in a statement. "Combined with our free MicroStrategy Desktop product, users can immediately create a cloud environment on AWS and connect to a centralized server where they can work together, share and maintain governance over datasets and dashboards. This new offering marks a significant achievement in helping organizations access and deploy transformative analytics applications on AWS in minutes."
The AWS offering is available for a 30-day free trial.
